Daisy & Brett Get Married @ Westin Lake Las Vegas

I had a great time shooting Daisy and Brett’s wedding at the Westin Lake Las Vegas.  A good wedding planner makes all the difference sometimes and it was a pleasure working with Brit Bertino of Simply Weddings.  It was also nice working with Randee, Westin’s onsite event coordinator once again.  She always does a great job which makes mine so much easier.  The ceremony was held in the Andalusion Garden area.  The weather was perfect and Daisy planned the timing for the ceremony for perfect lighting.  The reception was held in the Baccara Ballroom at the Westin and as you can see from some of the photos, the mood was fun and romantic.  Daisy and Brett scheduled their time to allow for as much photography as possible and as you can see, we really took advantage. We created lots of great images in a beautiful location with so many possibilities. Time is one of the most important factors to my success as a photographer and it is always a good thing when we have plenty of it.  I would also like to thank the Todd Herod of Shutterbooth and DJ Harry O for there help in making this wedding such a success.  Thanks again Daisy and Brett for asking me to be apart of your very special day.

Conveying a Sense of Fun & Energy

Companies are as different as the people that make them tick. Depending on their culture, products or services, and even clientele, organizations represent themselves in varied ways. Headshots are an important factor in how a company communicates with its clients and we understand cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all headshots may not meet the needs of your organization. That’s why we provide the right kind of headshot for the image you are trying to convey. This first company was hosting an event here in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay and wanted to take the opportunity to get headshots of their associates while everyone was in the same place. Having everyone in the same place can be rare, particularly for large or international companies, so conventions and annual meetings are the perfect time to get headshots of the team. The team wanted headshots that were a bit less than casual and wanted the photos to naturally convey their personalities and attitudes, which are so important to how they work with there clients. Relaxed, smiling, laughing, this important element here was to get the subjects to feel comfortable enough to let their personalities show.

Traditional and Timeless

This second corporation deals with well established clients, large corporations and institutions. It was important for their headshots to represent a very polished, traditional and professional sales force. The company was hosting its top sale reps and used the opportunity to capture headshots of its management team and sales professionals in order to replace a mismatch of headshots currently displayed on their website. The goal here was to make the sales pro’s look their best. We were able to setup a portable studio, small and efficient, to move 70+ professionals through before a social event organized to celebrate their achievements.  It was a great opportunity to create some very nice, traditional headshots while the team was dressed to the nines for the event.  If you are planning an event in Las Vegas, this is the perfect time to organize a headshot photo session and we at John Morris Photographer have over ten years of experience working with clients big and small in customizing and capturing headshots that can help define who your company is to your clients.

Las Vegas Wedding Photography

Nicole and Evan had an amazingly fun destination wedding in Las Vegas and we were lucky enough to be their photographer. They flew in from Philadelphia, along with 100 of their favorite people, for an unforgettable wedding weekend.

The weekend started with a rehearsal dinner at the Mandalay Bay followed by a welcome reception for all of their guests at the Luxor for. Afterwards they hosted a late night rendezvous at the Mix Lounge. The following day their beautiful ceremony took place at THE Wedding Chapel at Mandalay Bay. The reception was held at Tao Bistro at Venetian, and of course the afterparty continued at Tao Nightclub.

Tao is a gorgeous venue, but it was a bit tricky to photograph because it is so dark inside. The dark atmosphere suits the nightclub perfectly, but in order to create these rich, sharp images we had to strategically set up several professional lights in a way that would maintain the ambiance of the club. In doing so we were able to balance out the light and dark in the room, capturing the vibrant colors that decorated the reception.

The moody atmosphere did present a perfect opportunity to create some elegant, dramatic bridal portraits. A few of our favorites are posted above. Aren’t they a stunning couple?

I was flattered to receive a message from Nicole saying how much she and Evan loved their photos. They felt that the images truly captured the spirit of their wedding day and were having trouble narrowing down favorites for their wedding album. Now there is a problem to have! Nicole and Evan, thank you for the wonderful opportunity to be your Las Vegas wedding photographer and to create these amazing images. It was an honor to be part of your big day.
